Suicide Prevention Awareness - Dr. Dennis Gillan - 9/23 - 5:30 pm

Dear Bulldog Families,

We want to make our families aware of an important opportunity for our students, parents, and community to come together for a meaningful conversation about mental health, suicide awareness, prevention, and hope.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, our district will welcome Dennis Gillan, founder and executive director of the Half a Sorrow Foundation, to GHS for It’s a Tough Subject: A Conversation About Suicide and the Hope to Prevent It. Gillan will share his message of suicide awareness, prevention, and hope.

We would like to invite our Bulldog families and community members to join us for a community-wide meal provided at 5:30 p.m., followed by Mr. Gillan’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to come together, learn, and support one another.

As parents, educators, and members of this community, we all have a role in looking out for the people around us. Conversations like these can help us better understand how to recognize when someone may be struggling, how to start a difficult conversation, and how we can offer support and hope when it is needed most.

We encourage every Bulldog family to make plans to attend. You never know when something you learn, a conversation you have, or a connection you make could make a difference in someone’s life. Let’s come together as a community, support one another, and show our students that they are never alone. We hope to see you there. #BulldogsCare
